Vivo’s upcoming flagship series, the X100, is anticipated to include at least two, potentially up to three, models. The initial launch of one or two of these models is set for an event on November 16, and just before this unveiling, we’ve recently shared the AnTuTu benchmark results for the X100.
Now, the spotlight shifts to the phone’s performance on Geekbench, and it has made its mark. An X100 with the model number V2309A has appeared in the Geekbench online database, achieving a single-core score of 1,643 and a multi-core score of 7,199.
This particular device is fueled by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 SoC, as also confirmed by the previously mentioned AnTuTu benchmark. Running on Android 14, the tested model boasted 12GB of RAM, but it’s likely that vivo will offer various other configurations.
Certified with 120W wired charging support, the X100 is poised to feature advanced camera algorithms and processing capabilities, with vivo executives promising the potential for capturing the most stunning sunset photos ever seen on a smartphone.

Jia Jingdong, VP and head of branding at vivo, unveiled that the vivo X100 series will capture even more impressive sunset photos than before. In a detailed post on Weibo, the executive disclosed essential specifications of the duo, highlighting a Dimensity 9300 chipset and the vivo V3 ISP utilized for the Zeiss-branded T*-coated lens cameras.
He clarified that the phones don’t directly capture genuine shots of the moon; instead, they employ “calculation photography.” This technique involves the device utilizing available data regarding the geographical location and moon phase. Essentially, the phone leverages this information to compute the moon’s state and position, subsequently enhancing it using higher-quality imagery.
Jia shared multiple images taken with the periscope lens capturing the sun, along with two more shots from the shorter telephoto camera – one featuring a person and the other showcasing a ladybug on a plant. The executive confidently asserted that the vivo X100 phones will produce realistic photos of the sun during sunset. However, it’s important to note that a smartphone faces challenges in capturing these shots optimally, requiring ideal conditions such as the sun being at its lowest point on the horizon, absence of clouds, and minimal light refraction to lower overall brightness.
While direct sunlight during the day measures over 125,000 lumens, it reduces to approximately a quarter, around 32,000 lm, during sunrise and sunset. Nonetheless, a powerful System on Chip (SoC) coupled with a specialized image signal processor developed for such scenarios could replicate a similar approach to moon shots by utilizing known data about the sun’s position to enhance its presence in photos.
The primary challenge remains in managing overall brightness, causing other objects in the photo to appear considerably underexposed. The vivo ISP aims to tackle this challenge by isolating the sun in its calculations, processing the remainder of the picture, and subsequently incorporating an enhanced version of the sun itself.
This capability isn’t entirely new for vivo smartphones. The vivo X90 Pro previously captured striking photos during sunrise and sunset. Anticipations are high that the vivo X100 Pro will elevate this feature further, especially with this year’s flagship chipset from Mediatek.
Additionally, glimpses of the smartphone’s charming orange hue with a textured vegan leather finish were showcased. Confirmation is expected on November 15, and further details are anticipated to be unveiled in the ten days leading up to the event.
