Today, vivo unveiled its latest smartphone, the Y36, with its initial launch taking place in Indonesia. The Y36 succeeds the Y35, which was released in August of last year. Interestingly, the model has been introduced in two variations: one supporting 4G connectivity and the other supporting 5G. However, only the 4G variant has been listed on vivo’s official website for Indonesia at this time.
The primary differences between the two versions lie in the chipset used and the available color options. The 4G model is equipped with the Snapdragon 680 chipset and will be offered in Glitter Aqua and Meteor Black colorways. On the other hand, the 5G iteration features MediaTek’s Dimensity 6020 chipset and will be available in Crystal Green and Mystic Black. Apart from these variances, the specifications remain the same.
Both models feature a 6.64-inch “Ultra O” LCD display with a resolution of 1080×2388. The main camera boasts an impressive 50 MP sensor accompanied by a 2 MP depth sensor, while the front-facing camera offers 16 MP for capturing selfies. The phones come with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of expandable storage, and a substantial 5,000 mAh battery that supports 44W wired charging.
Operating on Android 13 with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 13 overlay, the devices exhibit dimensions of 164.06 x 76.17 x 8.07 mm and weigh 202g. The 4G variant of the Y36 is priced at IDR 3,399,000, which is approximately $226/€211/PKR64715.10 based on current exchange rates. The cost of the 5G version and its availability in other markets are still unknown.
