Sony Xperia 1 VI is set to be officially unveiled in June, and as the date approaches, leaks about the device are becoming more abundant. Just recently, images of the phone’s camera island surfaced, suggesting that the camera modules will be larger compared to those on the Xperia 1 V, directly contradicting an earlier rumor.
Most rumors agree that the Sony Xperia 1 VI will lose the 4K display and adopt a slightly more common aspect ratio. However, one piece of information that hasn’t been mentioned so far is the price. Today, we have some insight into what to expect in terms of pricing. In Taiwan, the phone is rumored to be slightly cheaper than its predecessor, priced at TWD 39,900 ($1,224 or €1,143) instead of TWD 41,990 ($1,288 or €1,204).
Although this isn’t a significant price reduction, and even if this rumor proves accurate, it’s uncertain whether similar price adjustments will be seen elsewhere. It’s possible that this pricing is specific to Taiwan. Nonetheless, it’s reassuring to see that the price isn’t rumored to increase even further compared to last year’s Xperia 1 V.
