The anticipated release of the OnePlus 12 is slated for the end of this year, and although it may seem premature, rumors and speculations from leaksters in China have already begun circulating. The latest information suggests that the upcoming flagship will be equipped with a third-generation Snapdragon 8 chipset and will feature a camera setup comprising a 50 MP + 50 MP + 64 MP combination.
According to the leakster, the primary camera will likely utilize an IMX9 series sensor, potentially Sony’s IMX989, which is a 1-inch type sensor. The ultra-wide-angle camera is also expected to be 50 MP, while the 32 MP IMX709 telephoto lens might be replaced by a 64 MP OV64B lens developed by OmniVision.
In terms of battery capacity, it is speculated that the OnePlus 12 could exceed 5,000 mAh. However, we believe the capacity will likely remain the same, especially considering reports of the device being equipped with 150W fast charging.
While this wouldn’t be the first OnePlus phone to support such fast charging speeds, it could mark the first time it’s featured in a true flagship device. Additionally, there is uncertainty surrounding whether North American fans of the brand will experience the same high charging speeds, as both the OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 11 saw downgrades in this regard.
Regarding the possibility of downgrades in the OnePlus 12, it is still too early to say, as the official unveiling is several months away. At this point, any assumptions regarding potential features and specifications can be considered wishful thinking.
