The battery capacities for the upcoming iPhone 16 family have been leaked today. However, it’s important to note that the source lacks a solid track record for accuracy, so these details should be taken with a significant dose of skepticism.
According to the leak, the iPhone 16 will feature a 3,561 mAh battery, which is 6% larger than its predecessor’s. The 16 Plus, on the other hand, is rumored to have a 4,006 mAh battery, 9% smaller than the iPhone 15 Plus. While it’s not common for new models to have smaller batteries, it does happen occasionally.
For the Pro models, the 16 Pro is expected to come with a 3,355 mAh battery, a 2.5% increase over the previous model. The 16 Pro Max will reportedly have a 4,676 mAh battery, which is 5% larger than the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s.
This leak marks the first time battery capacities for all four 16 models have been revealed. Interestingly, these numbers align with a previous rumor that did not include the iPhone 16 Pro’s battery details.
Regarding the 16 Plus’s smaller battery, real-world performance might not be significantly affected. Efficiency improvements in the SoC, display, or other components could mitigate the impact, ensuring that users still experience good battery life. The iPhone 16 family is expected to be unveiled this September during Apple’s annual hardware launch event, where more details will be confirmed.
