Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of the Redmi Note 13 Pro series and has unveiled some exciting details ahead of the event. According to the official Redmi page on Weibo, the Note 13 Pro series will introduce a variant equipped with impressive specifications, including 16 GB of LPPDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. These specs are typically associated with premium flagship phones rather than mid-range devices.
The announcement did not specify whether this variant will be the Note 13 Pro or the Note 13 Pro+ smartphone, but it is reasonable to assume it will be the latter. The page also teased the inclusion of 120W fast charging and a substantial 5,000 mAh battery. It is likely that these features will also be available in the Plus version, while the regular Pro model may offer slightly slower charging rates, such as 67W.
In terms of design, the front of the phone will feature a mostly flat display with a slim 2.27 mm bezel and a single punch hole for the selfie camera. The key questions surrounding these Redmi devices are their pricing and international availability, which remain undisclosed.
All the teased specifications and features seem promising, and the Redmi Note 13 Pro series has the potential to disrupt the highly competitive upper-midrange market once again. Xiaomi recently unveiled its Redmi 13 series in China, comprising three models: the Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro, and the flagship Note 13 Pro+. Let’s delve into the details of the Note 13 Pro+.
Starting with the design, Xiaomi opted for a curved screen on the Pro+ model and introduced a redesigned camera island with a vegan leather back on the purple variant, while the black and white models feature AG frosted glass backs. Notably, the Note 13 Pro+ is the first IP68-rated Redmi phone.
The front boasts a curved 6.67-inch OLED display with a high resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. This panel supports 12-bit colors, features a 1,920Hz PWM dimming feature, and can reach a peak brightness of up to 1800 nits in auto mode. It is also safeguarded by Gorilla Glass Victus. Additionally, an optical in-display fingerprint scanner and a 16MP front-facing camera are included.
Under the hood, Xiaomi has equipped the Note 13 Pro+ with MediaTek’s powerful Dimensity 7200-Ultra chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LDDR5 RAM and a capacious 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. To ensure efficient cooling, Xiaomi has incorporated a substantial 4000mm² graphite sheet and a VC heat sink.
The rear camera setup features Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3 sensor, boasting an impressive 200MP resolution, a 1/1.4″ size, and 0.56µm pixel size, which is the same sensor used in last year’s Redmi Note 12 Pro+. Additionally, an 8MP ultrawide module and a 2MP macro camera are included.
On the software side, MIUI 14, based on Android 13, takes care of the user interface, while a substantial 5,000 mAh battery supports 120W fast charging. Other notable features include stereo speakers and an infrared port. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ starts at CNY 1,999 ($273/PKR78002.93) for the 12GB/256GB variant and goes up to CNY 2,299 ($314/PKR89717.65) for the 16GB/512GB model. Open sales in China are scheduled to commence on September 26th.
