Xiaomi has officially announced the global launch of its flagship Xiaomi 14 series smartphones, set to take place later this month outside of China. The Xiaomi 14 series will make its global debut on Sunday, February 25 in Barcelona, just ahead of the commencement of MWC scheduled for the following day. The teasers hint at the highly anticipated unveiling of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
The teaser images imply that alongside the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, we can also expect the introduction of the more compact Xiaomi 14. However, reports indicate that the Xiaomi 14 Pro is unlikely to be released outside of China.
Xiaomi’s official website’s landing page teases “a new generation of Leica optics, reaching new heights,” strongly suggesting the introduction of the rumored wider variable aperture on the main camera of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is anticipated to feature four 50MP cameras, with a Sony LYT-900 main sensor equipped with a faster f/1.6-f/4.0 variable aperture, in contrast to the outgoing Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s f/1.9 – f/4.0 range. Additionally, it is speculated that the Xiaomi 14 series will be accompanied by the introduction of the Xiaomi Pad 7 Android tablet.
