vivo Y18 Launched in Pakistan

Previously premium features have been trickling down to mid-range and even entry-level devices at a steady pace, and the new vivo Y18 is a prime example of this trend. The phone was quietly listed on vivo’s Pakistani website without any fanfare, showcasing a premium-looking design. The Gem Green variant employs a 3D micro sculpting process that carves silver ripples into the rear plate, combined with a nanometer-scale coating that results in a gem-like texture, hence the color name.

In addition to Gem Green, there’s the more subdued Space Black variant, which features a subtle ‘starry night’ look upon closer inspection. The Y18 is equipped with stereo speakers and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, which are notable features for its category. The device boasts a 50 MP main rear camera, enhancing its appeal to photography enthusiasts.

The Y18 also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button for easy access. Its display, which vivo claims to be the segment’s brightest, tops out at 840 nits in High Brightness Mode. This is impressive for an LCD panel, further enhanced by “genuine eye protection” certification from TUV. The screen is a 6.56-inch LCD with a 90 Hz refresh rate and a 720×1612 resolution.

Under the hood, the vivo Y18 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage. The front houses an 8 MP selfie shooter, while a 5,000 mAh battery with 15W wired charging ensures prolonged usage. The device runs on Android 14 with vivo’s Funtouch OS 14 on top, and it measures 163.63 x 75.58 x 8.39 mm, weighing in at 185g. Overall, the vivo Y18 combines an attractive design with robust features, making it a compelling choice in the mid-range market segment.
