vivo has unveiled its latest smartphone tailored for the European market, introducing the vivo V40 SE 5G. Positioned in the lower-midrange segment, this device is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, coupled with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD cards. The rear camera setup features a 50 MP f/1.8 primary sensor, accompanied by an 8 MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens and a 2 MP f/2.4 macro camera. For capturing selfies, there’s a 16 MP f/2.0 front-facing camera.
Display-wise, the vivo V40 SE 5G boasts a 6.67-inch 1080×2400 120 Hz AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 1,800 nits (or 1,200 nits in High Brightness mode), incorporating an embedded optical fingerprint sensor. Additional features include dual speakers and a substantial 5,000 mAh battery, supporting 44W fast wired charging, although a charger is not included in the package.
Running on Android 14 with vivo’s Funtouch OS 14 overlay, the device will be available in Crystal Black and Leather Purple color variants, the latter featuring a faux leather finish. Dimensions for the Crystal Black version measure 163.17 x 75.81 x 7.79 mm, while the Leather Purple variant is slightly thicker at 7.99 mm, with a weight difference as well—185.5g for Crystal Black and 191g for Leather Purple. Presently, the V40 SE 5G is listed on vivo’s pan-European and Austrian websites, signaling its imminent availability across other European regions. However, specific pricing details have yet to be disclosed.
