Two months ago, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 13 series, debuting the standard Note 13 equipped with a Dimensity 6080 chipset, a 5,000 mAh battery, and a 108 MP primary camera. Recently, the company unveiled the Redmi Note 13R Pro, essentially mirroring the internal hardware of its predecessor. Visually, it offers a yellow color variant and an expanded camera module that stretches across the width of the device.
The Note 13R Pro comes solely in one memory configuration: 12 GB RAM paired with 256 GB of storage. Its display remains consistent at 6.67 inches, employing the OLED technology Xiaomi has utilized in its phones over the past three years. The primary rear camera retains the 108 MP Samsung sensor, while the front-facing camera nestled in the punch-hole is equipped with a 16 MP sensor.
Xiaomi has maintained the 5,000 mAh battery capacity with 33W charging support. Although the device’s hardware is nearly identical, the addition of extra plastic for the expanded camera module has resulted in a slight increase in weight and thickness.
Presently available in China for CNY1,999 ($280), the target demographic for the Redmi Note 13R Pro remains unclear. This uncertainty arises as the standard Note 13, boasting similar 12/256 GB memory specifications, is considerably cheaper at CNY1,599 ($222), marked down from CNY1,699 ($237).
