Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce its 14 series by the close of 2023, and the company has already secured certification for one of the smartphones from 3C. The Chinese Compulsory Certification (CCC) has given the green light to a phone bearing the model number 23127PN0CC, believed to be the standard Xiaomi 14 model, which comes equipped with 90W fast charging support.
This smartphone’s charger will deliver power output in the range of 5-20V at 6.1-4.5A, culminating in a maximum of 90W. To harness this capability, users will require the Xiaomi MDY-14-EC charger, though it remains uncertain whether the company will include this adapter in the retail package.
In early 2022, Xiaomi adopted a practice where they included the charger with the Xiaomi 13, but only for international markets. In China, users had to make a choice about whether they wanted the charger included since it was not included by default.
While Xiaomi is no stranger to 90W charging speeds, this development represents a significant advancement for the standard flagship model. The previous two iterations offered 67W wired charging, while the 13 Pro and 12 Pro models reached an impressive 120W. The question of whether Xiaomi will elevate the charging rate for the 14 Pro model remains unanswered, but more information on this front is expected to surface soon.
