As anticipated, vivo has officially introduced its S17 series smartphones today in China. The lineup consists of the vivo S17, vivo S17t, and vivo S17 Pro, which, together with the recently launched vivo S17e, make up the four models in the series.
These new devices share similar features, including curved 10-bit OLED displays with a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz, as well as 4,600mAh batteries with 80W fast charging support. However, the variations lie in the chipset and camera configurations, so let’s examine them in more detail.
The vivo S17 is powered by the Snapdragon 778G+ chipset, while the vivo S17t is equipped with the Dimensity 8050. On the other hand, the S17 Pro features the Dimensity 8200. All three phones offer options for 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage.
Moving on to the camera setups, both the S17 and S17 Pro boast a 50MP front-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and autofocus. Additionally, the selfie cameras are accompanied by dual soft LED flash sensors.
In terms of the main cameras, the vivo S17 Pro employs a 50MP IMX766V primary sensor (with an f/1.88 aperture and 1.0µm native pixels) and optical image stabilization (OIS). On the other hand, the S17 and S17t feature a 50MP main camera with an f/2.0 aperture and OIS.
The Pro model also includes a 12MP portrait sensor with 2x optical zoom and an aperture of f/1.98. Both the vivo S17 and S17 Pro are equipped with 8MP ultrawide sensors and a ring LED flash. The starting price of the vivo S17 is CNY 2,499 ($352/PKR101200.00) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage option is priced at CNY 2,999 ($422/PKR121325.00).
As for the vivo S17 Pro, it begins at CNY 3,099 ($436/PKR125350.00) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model, and goes up to CNY 3,499 ($492/PKR141450.00) for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version. The vivo S17 series will be available for open sale in China starting from June 8th.
