A few weeks back, Tecno unveiled the Pova 6 Pro during the Mobile World Congress, boasting impressive features like the Dimensity 6080 chipset, a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and a hefty 6,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging support. Now, another variant has emerged on the radar, the Tecno Pova 6, making its appearance on the Google Play Console.
The Tecno Pova 6, identified by the model number LI7, will operate solely on 4G networks, in contrast to its Pro counterpart which offers 5G connectivity. Equipped with the MT6789/CD chipset, equivalent to the Helio G99, it will be coupled with 8GB of RAM as standard, with a potential 12GB variant in the works. Storage options are set to go up to 256GB, as indicated by the label.
Furthermore, the Console listing confirms a screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,436 pixels, mirroring that of the Pova 6 Pro. Considering the identical dimensions, it’s likely that the screen diagonal remains consistent as well. However, whether the vanilla model retains the 120Hz AMOLED panel remains uncertain, though the G99 chip theoretically supports such displays.
FCC documents validate the 4G capability of the device and provide a glimpse of the rear design, resembling that of the Pro model. Additionally, they confirm the presence of a 6,000mAh battery (listed as 5,850mAh) with 70W charging capabilities (20V at 3.5A).
Measuring 166 x 76 x 8mm, the Tecno Pova 6 shares nearly identical dimensions with its Pro counterpart. While the Pro variant boasts a more robust 5G chipset and higher-resolution cameras, it remains to be seen if these features will carry over to the vanilla Pova 6.
Given the similarities with previous releases like the Pova 5 and Pova 5 Pro, expectations are high for the Tecno Pova 6 to offer impressive performance in its segment. As for its official release date, details are yet to be disclosed.
