Following our hands-on encounter with the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G, our exploration extends to its siblings, the Camon 30 and Camon 30 5G. While the Premier undoubtedly takes the spotlight as the premium variant, the Camon 30 duo showcases a striking resemblance in design and shared features, making them formidable contenders in their own right.
Driving the Tecno Camon 30 5G is the formidable Dimensity 7020 chipset, a 6nm powerhouse derived from the Dimensity 930 architecture. Featuring two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six A55 cores running at 2.0GHz, alongside a PowerVR IMG B-series GPU and integrated 5G modem, this chipset delivers next-generation connectivity prowess.
Front and center, the device boasts a spacious 6.78-inch AMOLED display, sporting a silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a crisp 1,080 x 2,436px resolution. While lacking LTPO technology, it still offers a vibrant viewing experience. Nestled within a discreet punch hole is the 50MP selfie camera, complete with autofocus functionality and a dual-color temperature flash for impeccable selfies.
Turning to the rear, the Camon 30 5G flaunts the hallmark chamfered design near the circular camera island, echoing the unified aesthetic of the Camon 30 lineup. This design not only lends a touch of sophistication but also enhances ergonomics, providing a natural grip for horizontal usage. The primary 50MP camera sensor, equipped with OIS, ensures stellar low-light photography performance, although it eschews additional ultra-wide or telephoto lenses.
Meanwhile, the Tecno Camon 30 caters to 4G connectivity, powered by the capable Helio G99 chipset. Accompanied by 12GB of RAM (including 12GB virtual), this variant prioritizes efficiency over raw performance. The chipset, fabricated on a 6nm process, integrates two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz, alongside six A55 cores at 2.0GHz, complemented by a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU and a dedicated 4G modem.
Embracing the same design language as its 5G counterpart, the Camon 30 offers a choice between a vegan leather or glass back, both exuding elegance and sophistication. The camera configuration mirrors that of the 5G variant, featuring a 50MP main sensor with OIS at the rear and a 50MP selfie shooter with autofocus and flash upfront. The display specifications remain consistent, featuring a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution.
Both the Camon 30 5G and 4G models inherit the robust 5,000mAh battery with 70W charging capabilities from the Pro variant, ensuring prolonged usage without compromise. Additionally, they share the same immersive stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and an IR blaster located at the top for added convenience.
This serves as merely a glimpse into the forthcoming Tecno Camon 30 series, with the Premier slated for a Q2 launch (April-June), followed closely by its siblings. As anticipation builds, these devices promise to deliver a harmonious blend of style, performance, and innovation, poised to make a lasting impression in the smartphone landscape.
