The Galaxy A34 (along with the A54) commenced its shipment to Pakistan in March, priced at PKR104500 for the 8/128GB variant. However, the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy M34 presents an alternative for fans. The M34 starts at just PKR57500 for the 6/128GB model and PKR64500 for the 8GB RAM variant, with a PKR6750 discount applicable when using select bank cards. Without the discount, the prices are PKR64500 and PKR70000 respectively.
Despite its significantly lower price compared to the A34, the M34 offers Samsung’s best Android support, with 4 OS updates and 5 years of security patches. In comparison, the PKR148600 Pixel 7a will receive only 3 OS updates, while the PKR67500 Nord CE 3 Lite announced yesterday will receive 2 OS updates and only 3 years of security patches.
The Galaxy M34 represents an upgrade over last year’s M33 in various aspects. Firstly, it follows the update schedule typically reserved for the S/A-series. Secondly, the cameras have seen improvements, with the main module now featuring a 50MP sensor with OIS, the ultra-wide camera upgraded to an 8MP sensor (from 5MP), and the selfie camera boosted to 13MP (from 8MP).
The display on the M34 might be considered an upgrade or not, depending on personal preferences in the LCD vs. OLED debate. The new model offers a 120Hz Super AMOLED panel with a slightly taller aspect ratio of 1,080 x 2,400px (20:9) compared to the M33’s 6.6″ LCD with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Gorilla Glass 5 once again protects against scratches, and an Always On Display function is now available.
Certain aspects remain unchanged, such as the M34 being powered by the Exynos 1280 chipset (it would have been preferable to see the 1330 at least). The RAM and storage options remain the same, with virtual RAM and a microSD slot for expandability.
The battery size remains unchanged, which is a positive aspect as it boasts a capacity of 6,000mAh, larger than most other devices. Charging is limited to 25W (wired only), as higher charging speeds are typically reserved for flagship Samsung models.
It’s worth noting a quick comparison with the Galaxy A34 as well. The A-series phone follows the same commendable software update schedule and features the slightly more powerful Dimensity 1080 chipset, with a similar memory configuration (although there is a 256GB option available).
The A34 offers a slightly larger 6.6″ 120Hz AMOLED display, but a smaller 5,000mAh (25W) battery. The camera systems are quite comparable between the two devices. One notable advantage of the A34 is its IP67 dust and water resistance rating, offering greater durability despite both phones having plastic bodies. The Galaxy A34 starts at PKR104700.
If you find the Samsung Galaxy M34 appealing, it will be available for purchase on website starting from July 16. Users can pre-book the phone starting today, and three color options are available: Midnight Blue, Prism Silver, and Waterfall Blue.

The Samsung Galaxy M34 is set to be launched on July 20, and the website’s landing page already provides a substantial amount of information. Although not everything has been revealed officially, leaks have filled in most of the missing details, such as the presence of the Exynos 1280 chipset.
This information is further supported by the Google Play Console listing, which mentions the chipset (the model number S5E8825 corresponds to the 1280 chipset). The listing also indicates a display resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels (with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9). According to website, this will be a 6.46-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone will be launched with Android 13 pre-installed and will come with a minimum of 6GB of RAM (though a Geekbench result suggests the presence of 8GB). Additional details provided by website include a 50MP main camera (potentially equipped with optical image stabilization, indicated by the claim “No Shake Cam”) and a 6,000mAh battery. Unofficial information suggests that the battery will support 25W charging, and the phone will feature a 32MP selfie camera housed within a U-shaped notch.
Interestingly, there are rumors of another version of this phone, potentially named Galaxy F34, which might feature a Dimensity 1080 chipset instead of the Samsung chip. More information regarding this will likely be revealed on Friday during the official launch.
