In February, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi introduced the entry-level A3. This month, it appears that Redmi is set to release a slightly modified version of this device, dubbed the Redmi A3x. The phone has been spotted in a database, revealing its name and two model numbers—one designated for the Asian market and the other for global markets. This information suggests that the Redmi A3x will be available internationally.
The Redmi A3x will carry the model number 24048RN6CG globally and 24048RN6CI in Asia, with “G” and “I” suffixes indicating the respective markets for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices. The “2404” in the model number suggests a launch in 2024, although this should be taken cautiously as there have been instances where the actual release date did not align with the model number’s implication. Although specific details about the Redmi A3x’s specifications have not yet been revealed, it is anticipated to be a slightly upgraded version of the existing A3, given its name.
The Redmi A3 features a 6.71-inch 90 Hz LCD display, powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC. It offers various RAM options of 3GB, 4GB, or 6GB and storage capacities of 64GB or 128GB, which can be expanded further. The camera setup includes an 8 MP rear camera accompanied by a 0.08 MP decorative lens and a 5 MP front-facing camera for selfies. The device is equipped with a substantial 5,000 mAh battery supporting 10W wired charging and runs on Android 14.
Considering the similarities in naming, the Redmi A3x is expected to share many of these features with potential minor enhancements. As more information becomes available, we will provide updates on the Redmi A3x’s specifications and features.
