The Poco F5 series is set to have its global debut tomorrow, but the UAE branch of the company preemptively uploaded the two phones on its website today. Consequently, the specifications and images of the Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro have been fully revealed, with only the prices remaining to be confirmed tomorrow.
Poco F5 Pro
The Poco F5 Pro is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and offers three memory configurations. It may appear familiar because it is essentially the Redmi K60, which was previously available only in China but now comes with Google Services and a slightly smaller battery.
The display is a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with WQHD+ resolution, meaning 3200 x 1440 pixels with a pixel density of 526 ppi. This is the highest pixel density ever seen on a Poco smartphone. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. A fingerprint scanner is located beneath the display, and Gorilla Glass 5 provides protection.
On the back, there is a 64MP main camera with an Omnivision OV64B sensor, f/1.8 aperture, and a 6P lens. Additionally, an 8MP ultrawide-angle shooter with a 120-degree field of view and a 2MP macro camera are included. The camera setup supports optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS), a feature not commonly found in Poco devices, making the F5 Pro more appealing to photography enthusiasts. The selfie camera located in the punch hole has a 16MP sensor but is limited to recording 1080p videos.
Poco takes pride in the 5000 sq.mm. LiquidCool VC, a cooling system consisting of stainless steel vapor chambers and graphite layers. This system improves heat conductivity by up to 15% compared to previous Poco F smartphones.
The battery capacity of the Poco F5 Pro is listed as 5,160 mAh, which is lower than the 5,500 mAh battery found in the Redmi K60, while still supporting 67W wired charging and 30W wireless charging. The operating system is Android 13 with MIUI 14 on top.
In the UAE, the Poco F5 Pro will be available in White or Black with a carbon-imitating finish. Storage and RAM options include 8/256 GB, 12/256 GB, and 12/512 GB. Other markets will have to wait until tomorrow’s event to learn about additional color and memory options.
Poco F5
The standard version of the F5 features another Qualcomm chipset, specifically the mid-range Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 with a CPU speed of 2.9 GHz. It offers 256GB of storage and either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. The Poco F5 shares the same 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, although the resolution is limited to 1080p in this case.
The rear camera setup consists of a 64MP primary sensor (unknown model), an 8MP ultrawide unit, and a 2MP macro camera. OIS and EIS are still present, but the unconfirmed sensor suggests a potential downgrade compared to the Pro version. The selfie camera has a 16MP resolution and an aperture of f/2.45.
Weighing just 181 grams and measuring 7.9 mm in thickness, the Poco F5 boasts a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 67W charging. Additional features include Android 13 with MIUI 14, NFC, an IR blaster, NFC, and
