The successor to last April’s Poco C51, the Poco C61, is on the horizon, as leaked renders have unveiled its design details. Sporting a notched display on the front and a distinctive circular camera island on the rear housing two cameras and an LED flash, the Poco C61 exhibits a modern and sleek aesthetic. Positioned on the left side of the frame is a convenient triple card slot accommodating 2 SIM cards and 1 microSD card, while the power button and volume rocker reside on the right. At the bottom lies the USB-C port alongside a microphone, with the 3.5mm headphone jack situated on the top.
According to the leaks, the Poco C61 will be powered by the Helio G36 SoC and will be available in two memory configurations: 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. The device boasts a spacious 6.71-inch 90Hz HD+ LCD display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a peak brightness of 500 nits.
In the camera department, the Poco C61 features a 5MP selfie camera on the front and an 8MP primary camera on the rear, accompanied by a 0.08MP auxiliary unit. A robust 5,000 mAh battery with 10W charging support ensures ample power for extended usage. Additionally, the smartphone incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for convenient biometric authentication.
Interestingly, the C61 appears to be a rebranded version of the Redmi A3, which debuted in India back in February, offering users a familiar yet refreshed experience. While the launch date for the Poco C61 remains undisclosed, leaked pricing details suggest that the 4GB/64GB variant will be priced at INR7,499 ($90/€82) in India, while the 6GB/128GB model will retail for INR8,499 ($100/€95). With the predecessor, Poco C51, released in April last year, anticipation mounts for the imminent arrival of the Poco C61.

Following the launch of the Poco C51 in April 2023, Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand, Poco, appears to be diligently working on its successor, the anticipated C61, which could be on the brink of its official unveiling. Recent sightings of the Poco C61 on the Google Play Console have fueled speculation regarding its imminent release.
The listing provides a glimpse of the device and discloses that the entry-level smartphone will debut with Android 14 pre-installed, running on MediaTek’s Helio G36 SoC. Interestingly, this chipset mirrors the one employed in its predecessor, the C51, prompting hopes for enhancements in other aspects.
Despite maintaining a 4GB RAM configuration, the C61 is set to feature an LCD screen with a resolution of 720×1650 and a pixel density of 320 ppi, offering a slight improvement of 50 additional vertical pixels compared to the C51.
While the listing refrains from divulging further details, a Bluetooth certification has shed light on the Poco C61 being essentially a rebranded version of the Redmi A3, which was officially introduced in February. However, slight discrepancies may exist between the two models, notably the presence of a hole-punch design for the selfie camera in the Poco C61, while the Redmi A3 incorporates a waterdrop notch.
The Redmi A3 boasts a 6.71″ display, an 8 MP primary rear camera accompanied by a decorative 0.08 MP auxiliary lens, a 5 MP front-facing camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 5,000 mAh battery supporting 10W wired charging. It’s anticipated that the Poco C61 may inherit most, if not all, of these specifications, promising a compelling offering in the budget smartphone segment.
