The Oppo A60 appeared on the Google Play Console earlier this month and has now been quietly launched in Vietnam. It is expected to roll out in more markets in the coming weeks. Despite its name, the A60 is not a direct successor to the A59 from December 2023, which featured 5G support. Instead, it should be viewed as the successor to the A58 4G from July 2023.
The Oppo A60 boasts a 6.67-inch 720×1604 90 Hz LCD touchscreen with a peak brightness of 950 nits and a 240 Hz touch sampling rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 680 SoC and comes with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The phone’s camera setup includes a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP decorative camera, and an 8 MP front-facing camera for selfies. It is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 45W SuperVOOC wired charging.
Additional features include a 3.5mm headphone jack and the device runs on Android 14 with ColorOS 14.0.1 on top. The Oppo A60 measures 165.71 x 76.02 x 7.68 mm and weighs 186g. In Vietnam, it is priced at VND 5,490,000 for the 128GB storage variant (approximately $216 or €202), and VND 6,490,000 for the 256GB version ($256, €238). Prices may vary when it becomes available in other countries.

Oppo’s long-running A series of mid-range smartphones is soon due to receive a new addition – the Oppo A60. Although its name suggests it will succeed the A59, launched in December last year, there’s a twist. Unlike the A59, which supports 5G, the A60 does not. This makes it more likely to be the successor to the A58 4G, released in July 2023.
The Oppo A60 has been spotted in the Google Play Console, which has revealed some of its key specifications. The most significant detail is that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 SoC, which lacks 5G capabilities. For comparison, the A58 4G featured the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. The A60 will come with 8GB of RAM, and its screen will have a 720×1604 resolution, a downgrade from the A58 4G’s display.
The new device will run Android 14 with ColorOS 14 on top right out of the box. Additionally, a recent TUV Rheinland certification disclosed that the A60 will have a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 45W fast wired charging. A Camera FV 5 listing further revealed that it will feature a 50 MP main rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture and an 8 MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. While these are the details known so far, more information about the Oppo A60 is expected to surface in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for updates on this intriguing new addition to Oppo’s A series.
