Today, HMD unveiled two new feature phones in Asia, namely the Nokia 105 (2023) and Nokia 106 4G. These devices introduce support for Unified Payment Interface (UPI) system, enabling instant payments through 123PAY without requiring an internet connection.
In terms of design, the Nokia 105 (2023) closely resembles the Nokia 105 4G from 2021, but it lacks LTE connectivity. It features a 1.8-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 120 x 160 pixels and a polycarbonate build with an IP52 water resistance rating. On the other hand, the Nokia 106 4G boasts a 1.8-inch IPS LCD display.
Both phones do not include cameras, but they do come with an LED torch. The Nokia 106 4G has the capability to play MP3 files, although users will need to provide their own microSD card. The devices operate on the Series 30+ operating system. Additionally, they support wireless FM radio, eliminating the need for a headset to be plugged in.
The Nokia 105 (2023) is equipped with a 1,000 mAh battery, providing up to 12 hours of talk time and 22 days of standby time. Charging is done through a micro USB port. On the other hand, the Nokia 106 4G comes with a larger 1,450 mAh battery.
The Nokia 105 (2023) is available in Charcoal, Cyan, and Red Terracotta colors, priced at $16/PKR4560.00. As for the Nokia 106 4G, it comes in Charcoal and Blue color options, with a price tag of $27/PKR7695.00. Open sales for both devices have commenced today.
