iQOO Neo8 Pro Launches with Dimensity 9200+ Chipset
In China, the iQOO brand recently organized a significant launch event, unveiling the iQOO Neo8 series, iQOO Pad, and TWS Air Pro earbuds. The Neo8 series consists of two variants: the iQOO Neo8 and the Neo8 Pro, which introduces MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9200+ chipset.
The Dimensity 9200+ chipset boasts a powerful configuration, featuring a 3.35GHz Cortex-X3 prime core, 3x 3.0GHz Cortex-A715 Big cores, and 4x 2.0GHz Cortex-A510 Little cores. Additionally, it incorporates an ARM Immortalis G715 GPU and has demonstrated superior performance to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in Geekbench 6 benchmarks. It will be interesting to observe how these two chipsets compare in real-world tests.
The Neo8 Pro model, equipped with the Dimensity 9200+, offers Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device also incorporates a massive 5002 mm2 vapor chamber to effectively manage thermals. On the other hand, the standard iQOO Neo8 features a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Both phones share a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1260×2800 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. The Neo8 Pro boasts a sophisticated 50MP Sony IMX 866 sensor as its main camera, equipped with OIS, alongside an 8MP ultrawide module. The Neo8, on the other hand, utilizes a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor with OIS and a 2MP depth sensor. Both devices benefit from the vivo V1+ ISP.
Regarding software, both phones run on OriginOS 3, based on Android 13. They are powered by 5,000mAh batteries and support 120W fast wired charging. The iQOO Neo8 starts at CNY 2,299 ($325/PKR92828.13) for the 12/256GB variant and goes up to CNY 2,899 ($410/PKR117106.25) for the 16/512GB version.
As for the iQOO Neo8 Pro, it begins at CNY 3,099 ($440/PKR125675.00) for the 16/256GB variant and reaches CNY 3,399 ($482/PKR137671.25) for the 16/512GB version. Both phones are available in red, green, and black colors. Open sales in China are set to commence on May 31.
