Today, Huawei has expanded its nova series of smartphones with the introduction of the nova Y91, a new mid-range device. One of its notable features is the presence of an iPhone-like notch, which adds a distinctive touch. Additionally, the phone’s large camera island on the back is hard to overlook.
The Huawei nova Y91 boasts a sizable 6.95-inch LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 1080×2376 pixels. It offers a smooth user experience with its 90Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling rate. Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, accompanied by 8GB of RAM. Storage options include 128GB or 256GB, and the phone is equipped with a massive 7,000mAh battery, which supports 22.5W fast charging using the included charger.
In terms of photography, the nova Y91 features a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor on the rear. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera. The device runs on Huawei’s EMUI 13 operating system but lacks support for 5G or Wi-Fi 6. However, it does offer Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and includes a USB-C port, although there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button for convenient unlocking. The nova Y91 will be available in Moonlight Silver and Starry Black color options. Its dimensions are 171.6 x 79.9 x 8.9 mm, and it weighs 214g. Pricing and availability details for the device are currently unknown.
