Pre-orders for the Google Pixel Fold have commenced, but it appears that the high-end variant with 512GB storage is now officially sold out in the United States. This particular model, available only in Obsidian black, has garnered significant interest from buyers despite its hefty price tag of $1,919.
While the 512GB model is no longer available for immediate purchase, Google’s official store still offers the 256GB version in both Obsidian and Porcelain colors. For those who are specifically interested in the 512GB variant, there is an option to join a waitlist. In the other three markets where Google has official sales for its foldable phone—the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan—the 512GB Pixel Fold is still available for pre-order ahead of the official release date on June 27th.

At Google’s I/O conference today, the Pixel Tablet and Pixel 7a were accompanied on stage by the highly anticipated Pixel Fold, Google’s inaugural foldable smartphone, which has been the subject of numerous rumors and leaks.
When folded, the Pixel Fold measures 139.7 x 79.5 x 12.1 mm, and when unfolded, it spans 139.7 x 158.7 x 5.8 mm, weighing 283g. It boasts an IPX8 rating for water resistance (though not dust resistance). The external display is a 5.8-inch 1080×2092 17.4:9 120 Hz OLED panel with Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It offers up to 1,200 nits of HDR brightness and 1,550 nits of peak brightness.
The inner screen is an OLED panel measuring 7.6 inches diagonally with a 6:5 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2208×1840. It features a 120 Hz refresh rate, Ultra Thin Glass with a protective plastic layer, and offers up to 1,000 nits of HDR brightness and 1,450 nits of peak brightness.
The hinge mechanism enables “fluid friction across the full 180-degree range of motion” to securely support various postures. Under the hood, the phone is powered by Google’s Tensor G2 SoC with the Titan M2 security coprocessor. It offers 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a choice of 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The rear of the device houses three cameras: a 48 MP main camera with a 1/2″ sensor size, 0.8 μm pixel width, f/1.7 aperture, and OIS; a 10.8 MP ultrawide camera with a 1/3″ sensor size, 1.25 μm pixel width, and f/2.2 aperture; and a 10.8 MP 5x optical zoom telephoto camera with a 1/3.1″ sensor size, 1.22 μm pixel width, f/3.05 aperture, and support for Super Res Zoom up to 20x.
On the outer display, there’s a 9.5 MP fixed focus camera with 1.22 μm pixel width and f/2.2 aperture, while the inner screen accommodates an 8 MP fixed focus camera with 1.12 μm pixel width and f/2.0 aperture.
A fingerprint sensor is embedded within the power button, and the device supports dual-SIM functionality with one physical SIM slot (the second SIM must be an eSIM). It features stereo speakers and is equipped with a 4,821 mAh battery that supports Google’s 30W USB-C charger with USB-PD 3.0. However, the charger is sold separately, and one is not included in the box. The phone runs on Android 13.
The Pixel Fold is currently available for pre-order in the US, priced at $1,799. It comes in two color options, Porcelain and Obsidian, and is expected to be released next month. Customers who pre-order will receive a complimentary Pixel Watch. In the future, the Pixel Fold will also be sold through the Google Store in Germany, Japan, and the UK, but not in other countries where Google offers its other phones. However, it may still become available through third-party retailers in other regions.

Google’s first foldable cell phone has been reputed for quite a while now, yet it’s expected to send off this year at last. We’ve previously seen it in spilled CAD renders, and today another report discusses its weight.
Evidently, the Pixel Fold will be heavier than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold4, the gadget that is active going to act as its primary rival. That might be associated, basically somewhat, to the next goody that got exposed today, to be specific that the Pixel Fold will have a greater battery than the Samsung.
We’re not told precisely how much greater, just that “the battery size will be closer to, but still well below, 5,000 mAh”. More like 5,000 mAh contrasted with the Z Fold4’s 4,400 mAh and the Oppo Find N2’s 4,520 mAh, that is. So we’re speculating around 4,700 mAh then, at that point?
The picture above purportedly thinks about the size of the unfolded Pixel Fold (in red) to that of the unfolded Find N2 (in green) to the unfolded Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 (in blue). Like the Find N2, the Pixel Fold’s unfold display will be in landscape mode, not picture like the Z Fold4’s. As per a spilled guide of Google’s send-offs, the Pixel Fold ought to become official at or “around” the Google I/O engineer meeting which generally happens in May.
For reference focuses with respect to weight, remember that the Z Fold4 weighs in at 263g. So the source of the present gossip advises us to consider the Pixel Fold as a little tablet in weight, which doesn’t sound all that energizing considering it won’t resemble a little tablet in size.
