The upcoming addition to Samsung’s robust Galaxy Xcover series, following the mid-2022 release of the Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro, appears to be named the Galaxy Xcover 7. Today, leaked official-looking renders offer a glimpse into its design.
The nomenclature suggests the possibility of a Pro version launching concurrently or at a later stage. The Xcover 7 boasts a single rear camera and a rugged construction, reportedly featuring a user-removable rear panel. On the device’s left side, there’s a versatile Xcover button that users can customize for various functions such as launching apps, push-to-talk, or barcode scanning.
Continuing the tradition of its predecessors, the Xcover 7 is anticipated to adhere to MIL-STD-810H standards and possess IP68 dust and water resistance. Its durability should extend to surviving drops on tough surfaces like concrete.
While specific specifications for the Xcover 7 have not yet surfaced, it’s unlikely to house high-end components. Considering the Pro branding of the previous Xcover6 Pro, which utilized the Snapdragon 778G SoC, the Xcover 7 might employ a Snapdragon 6-series processor or an Exynos 1xxx, maintaining a focus on durability over cutting-edge internal hardware.
