The Samsung Galaxy M55 launched in Asia last month, sparking curiosity about its availability to a broader audience. Unlike the M54, which never made it to Europe, the M55 is set for a global release. It’s already available in Europe and South America.
In Europe, the Samsung Galaxy M55 is listed on Samsung Portugal’s website, priced at €500 for the 8/128GB version and €550 for the 8/256GB model. For comparison, the Galaxy A55 is similarly priced at €500 for the 8/128GB version, although it’s currently discounted to €480. Notably, the M55 and A55 have distinct differences. Additionally, in Switzerland, the M55 is available through a third-party retailer, Mobile Device, for CHF 392 for the 128GB variant.
In South America, the 256GB version of the Galaxy M55 is available on Samsung Brazil for BRL 2,700, while Samsung Peru lists it at PEN 1,700. Samsung Chile offers the 8/128GB model for CLP 450,000. In comparison, the 256GB Galaxy A55 is priced at BRL 2,970 in Brazil and PEN 1,900 in Peru, with the 128GB model also costing CLP 450,000 in Chile. Depending on your location, the M55 might be a better deal than the A55, despite the latter’s more premium build and superior chipset.
The Galaxy M55 stands out as the only non-flagship Samsung device to feature 45W wired charging for its 5,000mAh battery. It also boasts a 50MP selfie camera, complemented by a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens on the back. The device sports a 6.7” FHD+ 120Hz display and is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. Unlike the A55, the M55 lacks an IP rating for dust and water resistance, and there is no information on the screen’s glass protection.
