OnePlus has finally launched its highly anticipated midrange smartphone for 2023, known as the OnePlus Nord 3, following months of leaks. The new model offers numerous improvements compared to its predecessor, the Nord 2T, including a larger and enhanced display, a more powerful chipset, and a bigger battery.
The latest Nord model features a significantly larger 6.74-inch screen, replacing the 6.43-inch display from the previous year, placing it in a completely different size category. This OLED panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ content, and it notably boasts a higher resolution of 1240 x 2772px.
Moreover, the screen offers an ultra-fast 1000Hz touch response rate, 10-bit color depth, and the ability to adjust its refresh rate within the 40-120Hz range. To provide an immersive multimedia experience, the Nord 3 is equipped with Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers.
Replacing the old Dimensity 1300, the new OnePlus Nord 3 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, ensuring a significant performance and efficiency boost. The processor is paired with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM, along with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, respectively.
The camera setup remains unchanged, featuring the same 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with a size of 1/1.56″ and 1.0µm pixel pitch. It is coupled with an optically-stabilized lens sporting an aperture of f/1.9. Additionally, there is an 8MP ultrawide camera with f/2.3 aperture and a 120-degree field of view, as well as a 2MP macro camera located on the back. The front-facing camera has been upgraded to a 16MP sensor.
OnePlus has enhanced the battery capacity of the Nord 3, increasing it to 5,000 mAh from the previous model’s 4,500 mAh, while still maintaining support for 80W fast charging. The company assures customers of good battery health even after four years of daily charging.
Out of the box, the phone comes with Android 13 based on OxygenOS 13. OnePlus promises to provide three years of software updates, guaranteeing three major Android updates for the Nord 3. In terms of design, the Nord 3 exhibits a fresh and simplified look, featuring flat edges and a flat glass back panel. The device is IP54-certified, offering protection against splashes and dust, and it includes OnePlus’ iconic alert slider on the side.
The Nord 3 will be available in two color options: Misty Green and Tempest Gray. The starting price for the 8GB/128GB configuration is €499, with the 16GB/256GB variant priced €50 higher. However, OnePlus is currently offering an early bird discount on the latter until July 31, making it available for €499/PKR151975.08.
