Motorola is gearing up to unveil its forthcoming flagship, the Edge 50 Pro, featuring the formidable Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The revelation stems from the company’s Chinese division, which confirmed the chipset’s inclusion in the X50 Ultra, slated to be rebranded as the Pro for the local market. Anticipated to make its debut in the United States as the Edge+ (2024), Motorola traditionally adopts the “Plus” moniker for its flagship offerings tailored to American consumers.
While purported videos showcasing the X50 Ultra/Edge 50 Pro suggest a 6.7” screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate, along with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage, skepticism surrounds these leaks. The lack of distinctive features, including any exclusive to Android 14, raises doubts about the authenticity of these videos, hinting they may recycle footage from the previous year’s Edge 40 Pro.
Nevertheless, compared to the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, the Moto Edge 50 Pro has already made an appearance on Flipkart, boasting key specifications such as a 50 MP main camera with advanced features like auto-focus tracking in video, AI adaptive stabilization, and an AI-driven photo enhancement guide.
Interestingly, the Flipkart listing contradicts the leaked videos by indicating a screen resolution of 1220p and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Additionally, Motorola touts the Edge 50 Pro as the first device to feature a Pantone-validated display, promising true-to-life colors and accurate skin tones for an authentic visual experience. Available in three striking colors—White, Purple, and Black—the imminent release of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro has enthusiasts eagerly awaiting further details as its launch draws near.
