iQOO Z9 Launched in India
iQOO has officially unveiled its latest offering, the iQOO Z9, marking the global debut of this smartphone under the ownership of vivo. The initial market rollout for this device will be in India, where it is set to make waves with its impressive specifications and features.
At the heart of the iQOO Z9 lies the powerful Mediatek Dimensity 7200 chip, coupled with 8GB of RAM. Notably, the device boasts the innovative capability to double its RAM capacity through a software algorithm, enhancing multitasking performance and efficiency.
The iQOO Z9 sports a stunning 6.67-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, complemented by a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and an ultra-responsive 300Hz touch sampling rate. The front-facing 16MP f/2.0 selfie camera is housed within a discreet punch hole for an immersive viewing experience.
On the rear, the device features a square camera module housing a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), accompanied by a basic 2MP depth sensor. Video recording capabilities extend up to 4K resolution at 30 frames per second.
Operating on vivo’s proprietary Funtouch OS 14, based on the latest Android 14 iteration, the iQOO Z9 promises a seamless and intuitive user experience. Powering the device is a robust 5,000mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging, with the charger included in the retail package. Additionally, customers in select markets, including India, will receive a complimentary case with their purchase.
Connectivity options include dual nano SIM card support, with the second slot offering hybrid functionality for a microSD card of up to 1TB storage expansion. Notably absent are NFC and FM radio capabilities, while audio output is channeled through the USB-C port or wirelessly. The iQOO Z9 offers comprehensive connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.3 and support for Wi-Fi standards a/b/g/n/ac/ax, alongside 5G dual standby capability enabled by the Dimensity 7200 chip.
Available in Brushed Green and Graphene Blue color variants, the iQOO Z9 is priced competitively at INR19,999 ($240/€220) for the 128GB storage variant and INR21,999 ($265/€245) for the 256GB storage variant. Additionally, customers can benefit from INR2,000 ($24/€22) discounts when purchasing the phone through select bank card deals.
The iQOO Z9 is set to hit the shelves starting March for Amazon Prime subscribers in India, with general availability for all customers commencing on March, available through Amazon India and iQOO.com.
