HTC, once a pioneer in the Android smartphone market, continues to hang on despite its diminished presence. Last May, it launched the U23 Pro, and now it appears to be preparing its successor, likely named the HTC U24 Pro. This naming convention seems to follow the pattern of indicating the year of release, similar to Samsung’s S series.
The HTC U24 Pro has recently surfaced in the Google Play Console, a typical precursor to an official launch expected within the next few weeks. Additionally, it was spotted in the Geekbench database and has received certification from the Bluetooth SIG.
The U24 Pro is set to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC and will feature 12GB of RAM in at least one variant. The display will boast a resolution of 1080×2436 pixels with a pixel density of 480ppi, and it will run Android 14 out of the box.
A single image included in the Play Console listing shows a phone with a curved screen and a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera, though these images are sometimes placeholders. The device’s power and volume buttons are located on the right side. The Bluetooth certification confirms it will support version 5.3 of the standard.
While these are the currently known details, more information is likely to emerge soon if the U24 Pro is to launch in soon, following the precedent set by its predecessor. Enthusiasts and potential buyers should keep an eye out for additional leaks and official announcements in the coming weeks.
