In the preceding year, Huawei introduced two innovative horizontal foldable models, namely the Mate X3 and Mate X5, leaving enthusiasts anticipating the arrival of a vertical foldable variant. The company did not disappoint, as the Huawei Pocket S made its debut in late 2022. However, continuing to build on this momentum, leaks from reliable source Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo have now unveiled early renders of the highly anticipated Huawei Pocket 2.
The Huawei Pocket 2 comes adorned in three distinctive color options: a classic plain black, a luxurious Dark Purple with what appears to be a leather texture, and a sophisticated Rococo White boasting a marble-like finish. True to its lineage, the device retains the characteristic dual-circle design on its rear, comprising the camera island and the cover display.
The camera island on the Huawei Pocket 2 features three lenses, although specific details regarding each module remain undisclosed. In the previous iterations, the P50 Pocket and Pocket S sported a 1.04-inch circular OLED display with a resolution of 340 x 340 pixels on the cover display. Notably, the P50 series incorporated a unique 32MP camera designed for ultraviolet spectrum imaging, a feature utilized in the Sunscreen Test functionality.
Speculation arises regarding the potential launch of the Huawei Pocket 2 alongside the forthcoming Huawei P70 series. While the Huawei P60 series debuted in March of the previous year, it is customary for the Pocket series to be unveiled later in the year, suggesting a possible delayed but simultaneous release. Huawei enthusiasts eagerly await further official announcements to unravel the full suite of features and capabilities offered by the intriguing Huawei Pocket 2.
