Huawei Adds Intel’s 13th Gen Chips in MateBook 16S and Matebook X Pro 2023
Huawei has incorporated 13th Gen Intel processors into their MateBook X Pro and MateBook 16S lineups, giving them the “2023” designation. Aside from this update, there are minimal differences in hardware between these new models and their 2022 counterparts.
To illustrate, the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2023 showcases no other variances apart from the inclusion of the new processor. The laptop transitions from Intel’s 12th Gen P-series chips to the 13th Gen Raptor Lake, offering a choice between the Core i5-1340P and the more popular i7-1360P. The processor maintains a 28W thermal envelope and a 12-core, 16-thread configuration, divided into 4 performance cores and 8 efficient cores. The laptop provides either 16GB or 32GB of RAM, while graphics are handled by the Intel Iris Xe GPU.
The display remains unchanged, featuring a beautiful 14.2-inch LTPS touchscreen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, 3120x2080px resolution, and a peak brightness of 500 nits, along with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Inside the MateBook X Pro 2023, you’ll find a 60Wh battery, and the sides of the laptop house four USB-C ports—two Thunderbolt 4 ports on the left and two USB-Cs on the right.
Weighing a mere 1.26kg, the MateBook X Pro 2023 boasts a “skin-soothing” metallic body and comes in three colors: Space Gray, Ink Blue, and White, the latter two featuring a fine-grained coating. The MateBook X Pro 2023 will be available for purchase starting June 1, with prices starting from €2,199/£1,799.
Moving on to the MateBook 16S 2023, this 16-inch laptop weighs 1.99kg and features a 3:2 aspect ratio touchscreen display with a resolution of 2520×1680. Huawei claims that the display reaches 400 nits, which is a significant improvement over the previous generation’s 300 nits.
The MateBook 16S 2023 is equipped with 13th Gen Intel processors, specifically from the H-series (45W), offering options such as the i9-13900H, i7-13700H, and i5-13500H. The MateBook 16S will be available for purchase starting June 1, with prices starting from €1,799/£1,499.
